George Trakakis
Dr. Georgios Trakakis is a Post-Doctoral Researcher at FORTH/ICE-HT and a member of the Composites & Nanostructured Materials Laboratory, CNM, since 2006. He received his BSc from the Department of Materials Science of the University of Patras in 2007 and his MSc and PhD from Interdepartmental Program “Polymer Science and Technology”, University of Patras, Greece, in 2010 and 2014, respectively. His PhD thesis was about “Fabrication and characterization of polymer nanocomposites”.
His research interests lie in synthesis of graphene by chemical vapor deposition or other physicochemical routes, production of polymer nanocomposites focusing in carbon nanotubes, graphene and other nanomaterials as fillers, and multifunctional composite materials. He has considerable expertise in nanocomposites, having been involved in various research projects. During 2013-2014 he was visitor researcher at Freie Universität, for IKYDA program. He has published 6 papers in international journals and has 12 presentations in conferences, 4 of which were oral.
