Anastasios Manikas
Dr. Anastasios Manikas is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Patras. His research focuses on the development and physicochemical characterization of functional nanomaterials, with a specialization in vibrational spectroscopy (Raman and IR) and two-dimensional materials (2DMs), such as graphene. He has extensive experience in CVD synthesis of single-crystal graphene on liquid metal catalysts, SERS-based biosensors, and multifunctional nanolaminate and composite systems for applications in gas separation, EMI shielding, and sustainable polymer technologies. His approach combines spectroscopy, microscopy, and mechanical diagnostics to explore structure–property relationships across multiple scales. He has participated in more than 20 national and European research projects; he has co-authored over 45 peer-reviewed publications and presented his work at more than 50 international conferences.
