Anastasios Manikas

Dr. Anastasios Manikas received her BSc. in Physics from the Department of Physics of the University of Patras, Greece in 2003, a M.Sc. and a PhD in Polymer Science and Technology from University of Patras in 2006 and 2011 respectively. He did 3 years post doctoral research in Italian Institute of Technology at Naples (Italy) focused on the development and the characterization of biosensors and biomaterials for ultra high molecular detection  and then he joined the group of Professor Galiotis working for the European project (Newspec) that deals with the New cost-effective and sustainable polyethylene based carbon fibres for volume market applications.

His research interests focused on the spectroscopic analysis and characterization of a huge variety of materials (from biomaterials to Carbon nanostructures). He has considerable expertise in Raman spectroscopy  and Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS).
